UPDATED PRACTICE POLICY NOTICE – 5-6-2020
The providers and staff at Skin Cancer Care Specialists hope you and your families are faring well during this time. We wanted to share an update on our practice and new policies which will affect your next visit to our office. Effective May 4, 2020 the State of Florida lifted restrictions on medical practices and in response we are opening our schedules up to see patients on a broader scale inclusive of skin cancer screenings.
In light of the loosening of restrictions we would like to outline additional and ongoing practice policies for accommodating patients:
Universal Mask Policy: Effective April 13, 2020 all patients and visitors to our office are required to wear a non-medical mask. As part of our continuing mitigation efforts, on March 30, 2020, all providers and staff have been required to wear a mask at all times.
Temperature Screening: All staff, patients, vendors or visitors to our office will be required to have a temperature screening before accessing the clinical suite. If anyone registers a temperature of 100 F they will not be granted access to the suite and their visit will be cancelled and rescheduled.
Patient Screening: Every patient will have strict screening over phone before they come to the office and again at check-in before entering the clinical suite. If anyone is identified to have flu like symptoms of fever, dry cough, muscle pains or any respiratory symptoms their visit will be rescheduled until they are completely well.
Patients Who Have Traveled: Part of our screening process will be to determine if a patient has recently traveled outside of our local area. All patients who have traveled out of our local area, especially to a geographic location with a high concentration of COVID-19 cases, will be scheduled a minimum of 14 days after their return to Palm Beach. If you have an emergent need please contact our office and we will determine if a telemedicine visit is appropriate to accommodate you before the 14 day waiting period. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding of this policy.
Patient Hand Hygiene: All patients and visitors are required to sanitize their hands using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer provided by our office immediately upon arrival to our office. Patients will be reminded not to touch their face after sanitizing their hands.
Social Distancing: We are achieving social distancing by spacing out patients with the goal to eliminate waiting in our waiting room. To achieve this goal, we are requesting only the patient, and a caregiver if a companion is necessary, come to the appointment. We are also requiring patients to call us upon arriving to the office parking lot and we will inform them when to come to our office suite to be taken to a room. Our staff will direct patient movement in our suite to achieve social distancing between patients, please follow directions by our staff members to help us maintain a safe environment for you and other patients.
Telemedicine: In addition to our regular office hours, we are offering telemedicine options on a temporary basis. Telemedicine may be accommodated by Skype/Facetime video conferencing or photo review with telephone consultation follow up. Please note some appointment types may not qualify for telemedicine visits. If you have an appointment that qualifies for a telemedicine visit you may be given the option to be seen virtually instead of at our office.
